Grandma Gone Granola™: Simple, Inexpensive Tips for Healthy Living

Several years ago, one of my favorite authors, Stormie Omartian, wrote a book titled “Greater Health God’s Way: Seven Steps to Health, Youthfulness and Vitality.” My copy is dog-eared and water stained (did I read it in the bathtub?). Hundreds of excellent books have been written on how to achieve good health, but I like Stormie’s for its straightforward, succinct and easy to understand approach.

Here are the seven steps:

  1. Peaceful Living
  2. Pure Food
  3. Proper Exercise
  4. Plenty of Water
  5. Prayer and Fasting
  6. Fresh Air and Sunshine
  7. Perfect Rest

In the course of explaining her seven steps, Stormie addresses multiple subjects—from reading labels to feeding children to balancing the demands of life. That’s what I hope to do with this blog—elaborate on basic, known ways to achieve and maintain good health.

For those interested in obtaining a copy of “Greater Health God’s Way,” I just checked and am pleased to report that the book was republished in 1996 and is available in paperback, new or used. Becky
